The Beginning

I’m Courtney, and this is my online journal – a record of my attempt to move from living on SSI for disability to building financial independence…and hopefully, one day, financial freedom.

The path I’ve chosen is resale.

Resale gives me flexibility. It supports me in creating an environment where I can actually thrive. It lets me work within my limits instead of constantly pushing past them.

Running my own business also means something else: there’s always room to grow. My income is no longer fixed. It can expand. I might start small – very small – but there’s always a next step, always a way toward more. And that possibility keeps me inspired.

I’ll be posting once a day to keep track of what actually happens. I’m writing as though no one will read it – because that feels honest. Should anyone take an interest, you’ll see the real numbers. The good days. The bad days. The awkward in-between days where nothing makes sense. And whatever I learn along the way.

I’m doing this for me, but I hope the right people find this.

The ones who don’t fit neatly into a traditional life.

The ones who feel boxed in by systems that weren’t built for them in mind. I want this to be proof there’s always another way – even if it’s messy, even if it’s slow.

This isn’t a, “Make $10k in 30 days,” story. I’m not selling courses. I’m not teaching anything. I’m not pretending the path is glamorous. I’m documenting my life and leaving it out there as an example for anyone who may feel confined in their current situation. If I figure something out, it’ll be because I lived it, tested it, failed at it, and tried again the next day.

I’ll be documenting real numbers. Real mistakes. Real frustration. Real wins. No highlight reels – just reality.

I’m making my own way forward. One day at a time.
